Support Project Manager in the day to day construction of a large multifamily apartment project.  Process pay applications, change orders, organize & review plans, respond to RFI’s, etc.  Project Engineer must have initiative, flexibility, imagination, and perseverance to perform in this position. Job site activities change daily as the construction of the project proceeds.

Listed below are examples of typical duties:

Liaison between the owner, architect, engineer and subcontractors.

Processing administrative work, including change orders, submittals, shop drawings and progress billings.

Interpretation of drawings, specifications, and field issues. Material and equipment procurement. Plan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate assigned project work.

Responsible for planning, scheduling, conducting, and coordinating the technical and management aspects of projects.

Pro-Core Maintenance and updates utilizing company construction program software that includes: directory/contacts, uploading plans & documents, project communications, and creation of various project binders.

Monitor work for compliance to applicable codes accepted engineering practices & company standards, plus maintain safety documents and assist in any safety directives. 

Responsible for coordination and support technical activities on assigned projects.

Reviews and maintains: plans, project documents, and project status reports.

Facilitate and maintain regular contact with project clients. Support effective communication & coordination on. assigned projects with all project members.

Prepare and maintain project meeting minutes and agendas. Document control-plans and project reporting. Create, track, distribute and close all submittals,

RFI’s, ASI’s. Handle take-offs (PDF, DWG, Construction Drawing revisions) and DWG distribution.

Maintain and distribute bid documents, construction documents, and updates.

Assist with permits and obtaining permit documents. Assist at the project job site with job trailer set up and site signage. May assist in the bidding process and scheduling.


The work is fast-paced and requires the Project Engineer to be a problem solver and to provide workable solutions to keep the job moving.

Being an integral part of the construction team provides Project Engineers with hands-on experience.

The Project Engineer reports to the Project Manager. 4 year Degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering.

2+ years of experience with advanced knowledge or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Intermediate computer skills: Microsoft Word, Excel, Procore. Excellent communication and writing skills
